This policy explains what personal data G4melab collects on g4melab.fr, on the Wardogs server and in the G4 Studio software, why, for how long, and how to exercise your rights (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 “GDPR” and the French Data Protection Act).
Data controller
The TURBO MEDIA association (G4melab), a French 1901-law association, RNA W912013454, SIREN 844 433 474, 11 avenue de la Forêt, 91800 Brunoy, France, represented by Emmanuel Leclerc, president.
Contact for your data: contact@g4melab.fr. The association has not appointed a data protection officer (DPO), which it is not required to do.
Data collected, purposes and legal bases
Browsing the site
- Technical logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, date): security and proper operation of the site, at the host. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- Analytics and campaigns (Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads via Google Site Kit): visit statistics and campaign measurement, only if you accept it in the cookie banner. Legal basis: consent. Details in the cookie policy.
- Embedded Twitch and YouTube players: loaded only if the “Media” category is enabled. Legal basis: consent.
Contact, partnership and recruitment forms
Name or username, email, message, and for an application your Twitch and Discord usernames; the IP address is attached to the message to fight spam. Purpose: answering your request and reviewing applications. Legal basis: pre-contractual measures and legitimate interest. Messages arrive by email in the contact@g4melab.fr inbox.
Live chat on the site
Username, message, date and an encrypted fingerprint (hash) of your IP address, used to limit spam and to let you delete your own message for 2 minutes. Messages may be relayed to the stream ad network and to the Twitch and YouTube chats of the lives. Legal basis: legitimate interest (running and moderating the chat).
Steam linking, Wardogs server and openings
- Sign in with Steam (OpenID): we only receive your public Steam identifier (SteamID64), never your password. We then read public data from your Steam profile (username, avatar, playtime, statistics) through the Steam API.
- Server priority and openings: SteamID, linking date, sign-ups for openings, in-game presence recorded by the server, priority end date.
- Discord (optional): Discord ID and name if you link your account or sign up from the Discord bot.
- Player profiles: username, Steam profile link, clip links you have shared, public statistics (Steam, tracker.gg).
Purpose: running the server, the priority queue, the openings and the player directory. Legal basis: performance of the service you request (terms and conditions).
G4 Studio software
- Device linking: SteamID, device name, login token (stored hashed), last login date.
- Clips: videos uploaded from the app, game, title, trigger, associated kills. Stored on Cloudflare R2 or Google Drive, and shown on your player profile.
- Match recap: game, start and end times, number of kills, associated clip.
- Stream and ad network (partner streamers): linked Twitch account (ID, login, name), current game and stream title, schedule slots, consent to be broadcast on the G4melab ad network.
- Discord status: the app can show “Playing … with G4 Studio” in your Discord, locally, without sending anything to our servers.
Purpose: providing G4 Studio features. Legal basis: performance of the contract (terms and conditions and Premium subscription).
Shop, donations and G4 Studio Premium subscription
Email, order content and amount, status, Stripe identifiers (customer, session, subscription), SteamID for the Premium subscription, and for physical items the shipping address entered on Stripe. Card data is processed by Stripe only; the association never has access to it. Purpose: processing orders, the subscription and accounting. Legal basis: performance of the contract and legal obligation (accounting).
Retention periods
- Contact and partnership messages: 3 years after the last exchange.
- Unsuccessful applications: 2 years after the last exchange.
- Live chat messages: 1 year.
- Steam or Discord link, priority and opening sign-ups: as long as the account is linked, then deleted after 3 years without activity.
- G4 Studio clips, recaps and devices: until you delete them or unlink the device, and at most 3 years after the last activity.
- Orders and accounting records: 10 years (Article L. 123-22 of the French Commercial Code).
- Host technical logs: 12 months at most.
- Google Analytics measurement: 14 months; measurement cookies: 13 months at most.
- Cookie choices (g4_consent cookie): 6 months.
Recipients and processors
Your data is only accessible to the G4melab team members who need it. It is never sold. We use these providers:
- Hostinger International Ltd (Cyprus): hosting of the site, the database, the email inbox and the stream ad network
- xREALM GmbH (Germany): hosting of the Wardogs game server
- Stripe Payments Europe Ltd (Ireland): payments
- Google Ireland Ltd: Analytics, Ads, Drive (clips)
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): clip storage (R2)
- Valve (Steam), Discord, Twitch, YouTube: services you choose to link or display
Some providers (Google, Cloudflare, Stripe, Discord, Valve) may transfer data outside the European Union. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict its processing, object to processing based on legitimate interest, request its portability, withdraw your consent at any time and set instructions for what happens to it after your death. You can also ask us to unlink your Steam account or a G4 Studio device.
Write to contact@g4melab.fr with your username or SteamID. We reply within one month. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr/fr/plaintes).
Minors
G4melab services are open from age 15. Under 15, a parent’s consent is required to link an account, send a form or place an order (Article 45 of the French Data Protection Act).
Security
Encrypted connection (HTTPS), G4 Studio tokens and chat IP addresses stored hashed, API keys never exposed, restricted admin access.
