Wardogs Season 2, aka update 0.2.0, is the biggest update since the early access release. New weapons, new vehicles, rainy weather, a damage overhaul, faster progression and anti-abuse rules: here are the essentials of Bulkhead’s official notes, summarised.
Date and maintenance
Season 2 was released on 15 October 2026. Maintenance was announced from 8:00 to 9:30 UTC, for about 90 minutes of downtime. Bulkhead announced the servers were back online shortly before 11:00 UTC. The update requires a download on Steam.
What’s new
Four new weapons and the Molotov
- TCX-SPR: assault rifle (Assault, level 20).
- PP-19 Bizon: submachine gun (Medic, unlocked by default).
- Evo-3 Ultra: .308 light machine gun (Support, level 30).
- M14: .308 designated marksman rifle (Recon, level 25).
- Molotov: incendiary throwable, thrown overhand or underhand, which also burns destructible foliage. Rain reduces its flames.
- New attachments: optics, muzzle brakes, magazines and bipods.
Four new vehicles
The Wolf-110 (light, fast transport), the Wolf-110 [M2 Browning], the T-72B3 tank (slower than the L2A6 but cheaper and slightly more fuel-efficient) and the Flakpanzer Gepard anti-aircraft vehicle.
New buildables and rain
Three buildables arrive: the machine gun nest (an M2 Browning crewed by a player), the large metal shelter and the wooden step. On the weather side, rain wets surfaces, vehicles and characters, sounds different depending on where you are, and comes through destroyed roofs. Thunder is heard at the same moment by the whole server and masks footsteps. Rain also reduces spotting distance.
Equipment changes
The infrared rangefinder now runs on a battery (about 80 seconds of active use). The level 4 helmet muffles sound and proximity chat, narrows the field of view and fogs up when sprinting, but level 3 and 4 helmets resist suppression better.
Balancing
- Big calibres nerfed: .308 −25%, 7.62x54R −20%, 7.62×39 −19%, .50 −16%, including on vehicle weapons. The FAL keeps the highest per-bullet damage among assault rifles, but gets closer to the TCX-SPR and the M4.
- Sniper rifles: hit-zone damage increased to compensate. The Scout Rifle kills an unhelmeted target with one headshot.
- Armour: level 3 from 55% to 50% reduction, level 4 from 65% to 60%.
- Suppression reworked: clearer, with −68% for a level 3 helmet and −80% for level 4.
- Parachutes: slower opening, impossible below about 10 m. The basic one goes to $500, the Sport to $700.
- Weapons: more horizontal MP5 recoil, Super-45 restricted to close quarters, another pass on DMR recoil, MGL-40 heavily weakened, new PU 91/30 scope for the Mosin.
- Buildables cost more and take longer to build (L81 mortar at 600 resources, for example), and drills are limited to 300 seconds of activity.
Progression and economy
- Faster XP: level 20 on a track needs 111,500 XP instead of 250,000, less than half the playtime of Season 1. Level 50 goes to 1,150,000 XP.
- Reworked unlocks on every track: AK74 and PP-19 Bizon by default, PKM at level 15, medical bag at level 14, armed Little Bird pushed back to level 8, new tanks for the Driver track. The Gold Market unlocks at level 35 of the WARDOG track.
- Rewards: assault weapon kill at $2,000, FOB hacking shared with teammates, logistics delivery streaks, tower capture at $1,500, a bounty per destroyed vehicle variant, spotting reduced by about 30%.
- Prices: increases (L2A6 at $22,000, Havoc at $28,000, Super-45 at $5,600) and cuts (AK74 at $800, FAL at $6,000, PKM at $4,100).
- Gold Market: eight new camos; the AK’s Black & Gold camo is removed.
- Wager Vendor: a vendor for betting on your own performance, announced for later in the season.
Factions and new rules
- Controlled team switching: when a team leads by more than 10 points, no further switch for 15 minutes, hidden map and no spawn vehicle until the zone.
- Friendly fire: the victim votes to forgive or punish; punishments add up to kicks and bans.
- Server seeding: rewards and a vendor discount for those who populate an empty server.
- Ping limits per region on official servers, with a kick for prolonged high ping.
- Lonestar bonus: a cash and XP bonus experiment for the blue team, removed shortly after release. A 20% discount applies to any team at least 40 points behind second place.
- Quality of life: visible squad intent, improved “Rebuy Last Loadout” button, aim assist strength slider on controller.
Since release
The launch wasn’t smooth. Bulkhead admitted mistakes, removed the blue team bonus and fixed an XP exploit on the Driver track. The studio also explained that the season hadn’t delivered the fresh start it hoped for and is considering bringing Season 3 forward “significantly”. The Season 3 reveal video was also postponed in order, according to the studio, to “get the right information before committing”.
